Albert Hall Museum lies in the center of the Ram Niwas Gardens and has been modeled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London . Albert’s son the Prince of Wales laid the foundation stone in 1876. The Hall houses a museum that showcases Rajasthani art and culture. The museum has an excellent collection of Jaipur glazed pottery and Rajput costumes. The top floor has on display miniature paintings from Rajasthan. Also on display here is an Egyptial Mummy.
The Durbar Hall, though usually locked, houses an exquisite collection of carpets. The Persian Garden Carpet, a 376 year old carpet woven in silk, is a major attraction here.
