Ana Sagar is an artificial lake built in the 12th century by King Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of the famous Prithvi Raj Chauhan. The lake was built by constructing a dam across the Luni river. There are many fine gardens on the banks of the lake such as the Daulat Bagh along with four pavilions that were built by Shah Jahan. The pavilions are constructed in a way that they extract maximum breeze from the lake as the lake would dry up after successive monsoons failed.
Boats and water scooters can be hired from the east side of the Dault Bagh. It is a famous place for picnics and evening stroll.
