Aranmula, situated on the banks of river Pampa, is about 128 kms from Trivandrum. The place is famous for its metal mirrors which are known as Aranmula kannadi in the local dialect. Annual Snake Boat race is held here in the river Pampa and visitors from all over the country and even abroad come here to witness the event. There are also many important places nearby. Aranmula Pardhasaradhi Temple is also situated here. It is one of the oldest temples in India. Temple has the finest murals which belong to the 18th century and the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna.
