At a distance of 3 km from Kannur Town is the Arrakal Museum in Ayikkara. Arrakal Museum is dedicated to preserving collections of Arrakal Family, which was the only royal Muslim Family in the state of Kerela. The Durbar Hall of Arakkalketu Palace was designated as a museum in July 2005. On display are collections of historical impressions created by Arrakals in the history of Malabar. The palace and museum are owned by Arrakal Family Trust that charges a small fee for entry.
