Badal Vilas is a 19th century palace that is the current residence of the royal family. Among its most important feature is the multi-tiered tower in the shape of a tazia. The tower was built in the 20th century as a parting gift to the maharawal from the town's muslim stone carvers who migrated to Pakistan after partition.
Part of the palace is used as a restaurant and a hotel. There are many attractive galleries and paintings inside the palace. Entry fee of Rs 10 per tourist is levied to enter the visitor's area. The restaurant and the private area is closed to visitors.
