Bhandardara Lake, also called as Arthur Lake is an artificial water body, built in 1910. Situated amidst thick forest, this lake gets water from Pravara River and also serves as a reservoir for Wilson dam. Apart from being the best scenic spot for tourists, it also has religious importance. It is believed that Sage Agasthi meditated for a year, in the area where lake is now located. Streams from this lake rush down from a height of about 150 ft adding beauty to the lake and the energy generated is used as hydroelectric power.
