Birganj is a sub-metropolitan city of Nepal and lies in the Parsa district. It is the main border crossing point for freight and export between Nepal and India and does not really offer much to a traveller. If you are here anyway, then the places you can check out include the fanciful clock tower in the centre of town which is covered in Buddhist and Hindu iconography and the Gahawa Maysan Temple of Goddess Durga which lies towards the west of the town.
