Bundi is 36 km from Kota and is often described as the undiscovered jewel of Rajasthan. The city lies near a narrow gorge and is flanked by hills of the Aravali Range on three sides. A substantial wall with four gateways encircles the city. Bundi derives its name from a former Meena king called Bunda Meena.
