Chaubatia is famous for its fruit orchards, gardens and the Government Fruit Research Centre. Spread over 265 acres, it is one of the largest horticulture gardens in India with a wide variety of apples. The place is set amidst greenery making it an excellent picnic spot. It provides breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks _ Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nandaghunti and Nilkanth peaks. Bhaludam, 3 km from here is an artificial lake and a popular picnic spot.
