Christ College is an initiative of the great educationalist and social reformer, Kurjakose Elias Chavara. It was established in 1960 and the college was affiliated to Bangalore University. Educational ventures of Christ Group include - Christ College (PU), Christ College (PU-Evening), Christ P.U. College (Residential), Christ College of Technology and Management and Christ University. It is a minority Christian College with a secular outlook, educating over 12,000 students annually. The college was awarded for having the best campus in Bangalore by Bangalore Urban Art Commission for four years. It is one of the top 10 educational institutions of the country. It is the first institution in Karnataka to have gained the honor of an A accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) UGC. UGC has given the right of ‘Autonomy’ to this Institution and it is now called ‘Christ University’. Apart from classrooms, the college has beautiful gardens, seminar hall, conference hall, auditorium, health club and women’s hostels.
