Also known as Devinuwara (city of Gods), Dondra is famous for two things,-Dondra Head & Vishnu temple. The extreme southern tip of Sri Lanka i.e. Dondra Head, lies the tallest Lighthouse in the country. It was built in 1889 by the British and it is still functional. Devinuwara is also known for the Vishnu temple. The months of July/August observe an annual festival that is celebrated in the temple.
