How to reach Gal Oya National Park
General Info
It is situated at Inginiyagala, West to Ampara.
By Air
Domestic flights can be boarded to reach Ampara from Ratmalana (Colombo Airport). From there one can board the local buses or one can hire a cab.
By Train
One can board a train from Colombo to Ampara and then proceed with the local bus. But trains are generally crowded. So it is advised to board a domestic flight.
By Road
From Ampara, the local buses depart for the national park twice (please check the bus service as it changes from time to time). All the buses depart at the max before 3 pm. So either plan accordingly or hire a cab. The cab should not cost more than Rs 300/-. The journey takes around half an hour.
