Gorakhpur is located in the eastern part of the state of Uttar Pradesh and is extremely famous for its Gita Press which publishes Hindu religious texts.
It is rich in history for two major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. Gorakhpur is the birthplace of King Vikas Sankrityayan Ji along with many other great leaders. You will find a good number of hotels, parks, NGO organizations, shopping malls and some great colleges that most of the cities in India do not have. The temples in Gorakhpur are indeed a major tourist attraction.
