Guru Ghantal Monastery is situated at an altitude of 3020m near the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers in Lahaul region. The gompa was constructed around 1200AD. The monastery is made of wood. Strangely, there is a stone statue of Goddess Kali inside the monastery which makes most assume that the monastery might have been a hindu temple in the past.
