By Air
Bellary (75 kms) is the closest domestic airport to Hampi. Bangalore is the nearest International airport(350 Kms).
By Train
The nearest railway station is at Hospet, which is 13 km from Hampi. Daily 10 trains and some special trains which run only once a week between Hospet and various other destinations are available. Hospet can be reached by destinations like Bijapur (235 kms), Hubli (161 kms), Guntakal (97 kms, by Guntakal Vasco Express) and Bangalore (364 approx. 9 hours, by Hampi Express). Most tourists use Hospet as the base and travel to Hampi for a days excursion.
By Road
Hampi is well connected by road to Bangalore (350 kms) and other major cities of Karnataka. The central bus station at Hampi is located in the Hampi market. Karnataka State buses ply regularly with about 10 buses a day between Hampi and Hospet. The other option is to avail a taxi or an auto rickshaw to explore the town. A lot of tourists rent bicycles to visit the ruins.
Between Hampi and Bangalore, 10 express buses run daily and take 9 hours to reach. Other regular buses connect Hampi to Hubli (5 hours, 14 buses daily), Gokarna (8 hours, 1 daily), Hyderabad (11 hours, 5 daily), Bijapur (6 hours, 10 daily), Mysore (19 hours, 4 daily), Badami (6 hours, 1 daily), Mangalore (12 hours, 6 daily), Hassan (10 hours, 5 daily), Goa (10 hours) and Arsikere (8 hours). Various luxury private buses ply between Goa and Hampi.
