Harihareshwar, also known as ‘Dev Garh’ or ‘Abode of God’ is a town surrounded by scenic hills on all four sides. The hills are named after gods Harihareshwar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri and Pushpadri. This place is famous for its magnificent natural beauty and tranquility. The place is known for its shallow, beautiful beaches. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, called Kalbhairav Temple is located in the town. River Savitri flows in Harihareshwar and the town is also blessed with two beaches – Harihareshwar Beach and Sriwardhan Bay. Tourists can hire a boat to move north of the bay to visit the residing area of Pehswas of Maratha. The nearest rail head is Mangoan and the town is 215 km from Mumbai. Harihareswar attracts large number of tourists and locals especially during the weekends.
