An important historic monument of Jawhar is the Jai Vilas Palace. Also known as Raj Bari, Jai Vilas Palace was the residence of rulers of Royal Munke family. Situated on a massive rock, the palace is lavish and spacious with 80 rooms. Built with intricacy, the walls and domes of Jai Vilas Palace are an excellent example of medieval architecture. It is located at a strategic height from where the King viewed his Kingdom. The palace is surrounded by thick forests and lush greenery. Another important palace of Jawhar is that of Tribal Lords, which depicts the life of tribal kings.
