Built by King Songtsen Gampo in 7th century, it is one of the two oldest temples in Bhutan. It is part of the 108 temples that were commissioned by King Gampo to subdue evil spirits in Himalayan region. The temple is famous for its sacred naked dance which is confined to the premises of the temple itself, and is prohibited for the travelers.
