Overview

One of the most elaborately built temples in Bhutan, it was commissioned by the Queen Mother of the 5th King. This temple was built to promote peace in the world and has the frescoes of Buddhist teachers & deities. It took some 10 years to be completed and is a fine specimen of Bhutanese architecture.
It offers some great views of countryside to the traveller, being situated on a narrow ridge - something typical of many Bhutanese dzongs and monasteries.
