Lachung La(5079m) is the second highest pass that comes in the Manali- Leh highway.e Its also one of the two passes above 5000m that need to be crossed on the Manali - Leh highway. The pass is situated between the settlements of Sarchu(toward Manali) and Pang (Towards Leh). If you are cycling then beware that the water might be available only in Sarchu (towards Manali). The road from Sarchu to Pang is quite good apart from a few kms before Pang.
The nearest place to spend a night are the makeshift tents at Whiskey Nullah.
Good and comfortable accomodation is available in Sarchu towards Manali and in Leh towards Leh.
