Minimum Suggested Level: Experienced Suggested Duration: 5 - 7 days For this trek, one has to have ample time and patience, which is of course worth it. The trek takes around five days and is considered as one of the best treks. One comes across the multiple species of birds that are seen flying around, doing recce of the place. The trek is filled with narrow paths, so narrow at few places that only one person can pass through it.
You can carry your camping equipment as camping areas are available along the trek. Apart from that, standard trekking gear and equipment including (but not limited to) shoes, first-aid, food, water, rain-gear, salt for leaches etc is recommended.
When to go
The place is not advised to be visited during monsoons because it faces frequent landslides that shuts the road for multiple days. If ill luck would have it, one can face that situation any time of the year, but then if mother nature wants, you can even have a pleasant monsoons. April- June, September-November are the ideal months to visit. The people here celebrate secret lhakhangs and traditionla festivals like matsutake festival during the month of August, which is worth attending.
How to reach
One can start this trek from Latongla which is situated on the main highway between Mongar and Bumthang, somewhere between Sengor and Namling towns.
