Manchanabele lake/dam is a great one day trip from Bangalore. It along with Savandurga makes for a great one day roadtrip. The roads are mostly good and scenic. There are some nice trails around the lake for off road biking. It is also well known for some good bird photography.
Don't miss The Big Banyan tree on the way, about 8-10 kms before the lake.
