A flight of steps from the Diwan-i-Khas leads to Maussaman Burj(also known as Shahi Burj) which is an octagonal building each side of which has pillars and bracket openings. The eastern side projects outwards and accommodates a jharoka. The views of Taj Mahal from this palace make for some amazing photos. Shah Jahan had spent eight last years of his wife in imprisonment here. After his death his body was taken by a boat to Taj Mahal and buried there.
