It is one of the best places to observe the wildlife in Bhutan. It is primarily a reserve area for Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Takin took its birth from the cross breeding of the cow and a goat. This Zoo was shut down by the His Majesty on the terms that the Zoo is not keeping respecting religious sentiments and is going against the laws of nature. The freedom of all the animals lead to problems of traffic, food shortage, disturbance in the harmony of the place and unhealthy environment. It was then that the Zoo got its life back.
