Nahargarh Fort (meaning the abode of the tigers) was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1734 and extended by the subsequent rulers. The fort is strategically located on a hill top and along with Amber Palace and Jaigarh Fort formes a strong defence ring around the city.
Madho Singh II built a lavish palace here called Madhavendra Bhavan for his nine queens. The views of the city and the Man Sagar Lake from the top are breathtaking.
