The Nehru Zoological Park is located at Bahadurpura on the route to NG Ranga Agricultural University in Rajendranagar which is 15 km from Hyderabad. The Park is spread over an area of 1.2 square km of landscaped gardens and is home to almost 3000 species of animals. The forest area was declared a Park in 1963.
The main attractions of the Park are the pre-historic Dinosaur Park, Nocturnal Zoo, Natural History Museum, Mini Train and Animal Rides which make it an ideal picnic spot. Exotic animals like the Indian Rhinos, Tigers, Asiatic Lions, Gaurs, Panthers and Antelopes can be seen here.
The main fauna of the Park includes Mandrills, Orangutans, Olive and Yellow Baboons, Chacma, Chimpanzees from Central Africa, Bonnets, Rhesus, Hippopotamus, Rhinoceros, Elephants, Zebras, Antelopes, Monkeys (pig tailed, lion tailed
