Netrani Island, also known as Pigeon Island or Netragudo, lies 10 km from Murudeshwar. The land is covered with uncontrolled plant growth and is unexplored by tourists. The foot of the island also has exotic species thriving amidst endangered coral reefs. One can spot temple ruins, a church and a mosque in this place suggesting that the land was in use during ancient times. But today, the area is mostly used by Indian Navy for practices. One can reach Netrani Island from Bhaktal or Honawar by boat. Tourists can engage in Snorkeling, Scuba diving and swimming apart from admiring the picturesque location of Netrani Island.
