Unlike any of the numerous points in Matheran, One Tree Hill Point is unique. It is called so because of the presence of a single Jambhool tree at the hill point. It is a calm and beautiful spot for recreation and meditation. A British collector, Hugh Poyntz Mallet discovered a route to reach the lush green plains from hill top. This route is called as ‘Shivaji’s Ladder’ and is a trekker’s thrill. Panoramic views of plains below, a tent hill and Chowk Village are visible from this point.
