Pokaran is a desert town in Jaisalmer District. A 14th century fort, referred to as Balagarh( Fort Pokaran) exists in the city. Pokaran is also famous as its a nuclear site where India has tested its nuclear bombs.
The city of Jaisalmer is situated very near to Pokaran.
