Sadashivgad Fort
Sadashivgad Fort in Karwar, lying at a height of 200 ft. on a hill-top, was constructed in the year 1698 AD by Raja Sonde. Sadashivgad is a village across the Kali River, in Karwar and was ruled by Portuguese, Marathas, Kadambas and British at different times. A temple dedicated to Goddess Durga, known as ‘Durga Devi temple’ is located here. The Dargah of Karimuddin Ghouse Jilani is an archeologically significant holy shrine of Muslims. The hill-top of Sadashivgad offers a panoramic view of the village, Kali River and waters of Arabian Sea. The area is ideal for practicing meditation and for spending a calm day.
