Sri Krishna Temple and Mahanavmi Dibba are two structures built by King Krishnadevraya to celebrate his victory over King Rudra Pratap in Orissa. An idol of Lord Krishna was seized from Orissa and brought to Vijayanagar Empire in 1513 AD. The King then built a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, housing the seized idol. Three entrances of this temple lead to halls supported extensively by pillars. This temple depicts beautiful images of apsaras seated on animals and 10 incarnations of Lord Krishna. Sri Krishna temple is one of the major tourist attractions in Hampi.
