Shri Sudarshan Sahoo was a non-traditional artist who practiced art on stone and wood in different parts of India and abroad. Upon completing ‘Atami Stupa’ in Japan, the artist decided to industrialize his work and then Sudarshan Crafts Museum came into existence in 1977. This centre, widely recognized by the Government, is a museum for display of Sudharshan’s and his fellow artisans’ work. A number of paintings in stone, fiber, glass and wood are on display in the museum. This centre is also a training institute for budding artists. One can choose to buy these export-variety paintings and sculptures and also witness their making, between 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A Buddhist temple built in Japanese style; a workshop and library are located close to this museum.
