Suraj tal lake is located 3 kms before Baralacha La Pass. Suraj tal is the source of the Bhaga river which joins the Chadra river at Tandi to form the ChandraBhaga river. The lake is located at an altitude of 4800m and is fed from the snowfall at the Bara Lacha La pass.

For trekkers there is a great trek that starts from Batal and finishes at Baralacha La Pass via the famous Chandra Tal Lake.
