The Toli Masjid or the Damdi Masjid is a beautiful elaborate Mosque located at Caravan near Purana Pul in Hyderabad. The Mosque was built in 1671 during the reign of Sultan Abdullah and is a unique specimen of Qutb Shahi architecture.
Toli Masjid is well known for its architectural grandeur. The Mosque is flanked with two minarets of 20 meters each. The parapet consists of miniature arches with screens of various designs. It has two halls and the outer hall has five arched openings. Each arch has a lotus decoration in the spandrels. The prayer halls consist of inscriptions which state that the Masjid was built by a royal architect - Musa Khan Khan Mahaldar. It is believed that he built the Mosque by the money which he saved while constructing the Mecca Masjid.
