Imam Zamin was a saint from Turkestan, who came to India in around 1500. The tomb was built during his lifetime. Instead of marble some glassy plaster called chunam is used. The base though square looks octagonal because beams have been erected diagonally at the corners.
Imam Zamin was buried in the tomb in 1539.
