Triveni Ghat a sacred bathing spot where devotees take dips and offer prayers on the bank of the river Ganga. Many devotees come to bath here as it is believed that the water has the power to purify them. As the sun begins to set bells and gongs ring and chants fill the air. The dusk Aarti on the ghat is most impressive as devotees release flower-filled leaf boats carrying tiny oil lamps and let them float out on the river. It is the most important places for religious ceremonies in Rishikesh.
