Udaipur is situated at the confluence of the Chandrabhaga river and Mayar Nullah. It was named Udaipur after Raja Udai Singh of Chamba in the end of the 17th century. Trilokinath temple, built in the 8th century and Markula Devi Temple, another old temple with some amazing woodwork are two attractions worth visiting when in Udaipur.
