The southern hill (of the three hills that constitute the Ross Hill) has the Venkateshwara Konda Temple and is the abode of Lord Venkateshwara (Vishnu). The main attraction of the temple is the pyramidal gopuram at the entrance. According to Telegu inscriptions, the Temple is believed to have been built by a Captain Blackmoor (an European) in 1866. Venkateshwara Konda Temple gives a magnificent view of the port city.
